The “furbaby” Generation

Let’s break the word down in order to fully understand its meaning. The word fur I can totally get on board with, dogs have fur, right? Now for the “baby” part…it does make my skin crawl. As a parent of an actual human, I find this so disrespectful to parents and to the animals we bring into our homes. We are comparing animals to human children! Now don’t get me wrong, I freaking love my dogs, LOVE my dogs. I spend every single day with them, all day, every day. The reason I find it disrecptpful as a parent is pretty simple, my daughter is more important to me then my dogs. She is my flesh and blood, she will outlive me and do great things for the world. She wants to become the worlds best cat groomer, her goals, not mine. My dogs do great things for me, but if it came down to saving her life or my dogs, I would chose her life obviously. Wouldn’t you?

It isn’t healthy and or rational to have this mentality. If you stay stuck in the “furbaby” generation, your dog will

Struggle.

This mentality means you will most likely not disciple your dog. I assume that because we usually don’t discipline human babies either. Most likely you will allow your dog to do whatever it desires. In the long run causing your dog some serious emotional and behavioural issues.

Now here’s something that I’ve been seeing more and more of lately. The clients who were once the “furbaby” type, whom now have actual babies ! Wow, do they ever realize who comes first once you have an actually human baby. They completely change their tone and realize how much work they now have to put into their dog in order to keep their actual baby safe.

That mentality alone is killing dogs. Yup! It is murdering the animals you call “furbabies”.

We are humanizing an animal that doesn’t have the ability to human!!

Do you have the ability to dog?

Can you wake up every morning, get naked, eat on the floor out of a metal bowl and spend your days in a metal crate? Can you eat dead rotting animals and take your morning dump in the front yard ?????

Of course not , you are a human!! Imagine the long term psychological effects that would have on you. This is the same thing we are seeing with dogs. We are trying to make them human, instead of keeping them dogs.

Open your dogs mouth and check out their teeth. Fangs for grabbing and puncturing, incisors for nibbling, premolars for tearing, and molars for crushing bone. Let’s be thankful everyday that the dogs you call “furbabies” could seriously rip our faces off while we sleep, but chose not too.

Now open your babies mouth and check out their teeth. Not very much to look at.

Dogs are predators, they can bite and seriously injure, in some cases, kill humans and other animals.

This is your furbaby??
