Train
Improve the actual training work: behaviour knowledge, observation, planning, progression, troubleshooting and practical protocols.
- Training mechanics
- Behaviour and case planning
- Progression and troubleshooting
- Real-world training protocols
Practical education, ready-to-use resources and business tools for dog trainers who want to keep learning, work more confidently, and help more dogs and their people.
There is a lot more to this profession than knowing how to train a dog.
You can understand behaviour, have solid training skills and still find yourself thinking:
“Wait... how am I supposed to do this part?”
Not to tell you there is one right way to train dogs.
Not to drag you into another methodology argument.
Just useful education, stronger professional skills and practical resources you can actually use.
Being a good dog trainer means building skills in more than one area. The Dog Trainers Place is designed to help with all four.
Improve the actual training work: behaviour knowledge, observation, planning, progression, troubleshooting and practical protocols.
Learn how to structure lessons, explain concepts clearly, coach clients and give people something they can actually follow.
Build stronger systems around intake, documentation, follow-up, service delivery, communication and organization.
Sometimes you do not need another course. You need the form, lesson plan, handout, assessment, checklist or complete program.
You do not have to know everything before calling yourself a dog trainer.
You also do not have to pretend you know everything.
There are already enough places online where dog trainers can spend six hours fighting about labels, equipment, terminology and who belongs in which camp.
This does not need to be another one.
The Dog Trainers Place focuses on professional skills that matter across methodologies.

A growing collection of genuinely useful resources you can download, learn from and use in your work.
There are excellent certification programs, schools, workshops and conferences. Sometimes that is exactly what you need. Sometimes you just need help with one part of the job.
I have spent around two decades working with dogs in one form or another.
That has included professional dog training, rescue work, fostering hundreds of dogs, running dog-related businesses, working with clients, developing training programs and creating educational resources for trainers and dog owners.
One thing became pretty obvious: there is a huge amount of information available about how to train dogs.
There is much less practical support for everything else trainers are suddenly expected to know how to do.
So I started building it.
I do not expect every trainer here to train exactly like I do. That is not the point.
The point is to help you think more clearly, build stronger skills and become better at the whole job.
Practical articles and deeper learning for trainers who want to get better at the actual job.
Private lessons, client coaching, homework, communication and helping people actually understand the plan.
Assessment, training mechanics, case planning, progression and practical behaviour education.
Documentation, service design, business systems, scope, professional development and the parts nobody warned you about.
